The one that started it all! Well, the new era of quilting for me, anyway. A coworker was having a baby and naturally we would be throwing a shower for her. One of the activities at the shower was for friends and coworkers to draw custom squares that would eventually be made into a quilt for the baby. I volunteered to put the quilt together, not realizing this would become a life-long and fulfilling hobby.
I had to start at the beginning – I didn’t even own a sewing machine at this point. I had to buy all of the notions and doo-dads that quilters spend so much time collecting.
It was, as are all of my projects, full of lessons that I would eventually take with me through future crafts. I also learned a lesson about my own limits. When I took this project on I was a week away from ankle surgery and I had no idea just how much that would take out of me. I ended up finally finishing the quilt just a week after she delivered. Whew!
When I'm not working, I try to maintain my T-shape. I love to read, garden and sew. I am also a foster home for Foothills Animal Shelter. Here is where I talk about these things and more!
